"On selling tickets to a chook raffle...and other lessons from the AGM" appears in Keeping Good Companies, (May 2006), pp 200-207, published by the Chartered Secretaries of Australia Ltd. Phil's "Regulating to greatness...and other fables and quaint ideas for economic development" appears in Australian Chief Executive (May 2006), pp. 8-11, published by Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA).

Phil Burgess and Ray Sydnor, former NFL star with the Philadelphia Eagles and founder and president of Mentoring Academic-Athletic Partnerships (MAAP), based in Baltimore, worked together with The Clapham Institute to prepare a program plan that outlines MAAP's approach to foster personal responsibility, nurture leadership and build communities in inner-city neighborhoods.

Phil Burgess has been retained by Georgetown-based Evermay Society to help design a center to support emerging leadership in the Washington area and to provide a venue for established leadership, both public and private, to meet to address issues of common concern. The final report was delivered to Evermay Society president Harry Belin on August 24, 2004.
